Sacramento Valley Soaring Society is excited to announce Spring Fling 2008.  This is our 17^th annual two-day thermal duration contest held in Sacramento California.  It’s a two-day contest that spans three days of fun June 20th through June 22nd.  The field will be open and winches available on Friday, the 20th for fun flying and practice.  Contest days are Saturday 6/21 and Sunday 6/22.  On both days, the pilot’s meeting is at 8:45 and flying starts at 9:00.

Classes - The classes are; Unlimited, 2-Meter, RES, Junior, Grey Cup.  Junior is 18 and younger.  Grey Cup is 60+.  You may enter in two classes. 

Alerts - In order to keep the flight order moving; 1) pilots must respond to their call up within 5 minutes or they'll get a zero for the round.  2) Entry is limited to four pilots per channel.  No exceptions!

Tasks - Saturday’s tasks are 3,5,7,5,6.  Sunday’s tasks are 3,5,7,9.  Graduated landing targets will be painted on the grass.

Trophies - Trophies will be awarded as follows; 1st - 4th place in Unlimited, 1st - 3rd in RES, 1st & 2nd place in 2-Meter & Grey Cup and 1st place in Junior.  For LSF purposes, Spring Fling will be considered TWO contests.  One on Saturday and another contest on Sunday.  The trophies will awarded based on the best combined, 2 day scores.

Lodging - There are many motels and hotels nearby.  Check the "Lodging" page for locations, rates and reservation numbers.  Camping is permitted at the field.  Due to County regulations open fires are prohibited.

Food – Hamburgers, hot dog, drinks and other accoutrements will be available at the field.
